WordPress vs. HMTL5

Every web designer/company specializes in different programming languages and different web platforms.  There are pros and cons to these different options of web platforms.

Success Leaves Clues…Follow the Successful Sites!

Over 75 MILLION websites use WordPress as their CMS.  Wordpress powers more than 20% of the world’s websites.  If that’s not enough, The New Yorker, The BBC and Forbes are some big names who power their sites with WordPress.

Why should you care?

WordPress will save you time, money and tons of frustration.

Let’s focus on the two most popular types of websites in 2017, WordPress and HTML5.

WordPress is an online, open-source website creation tool written in PHP. But in non-geek speak, it’s probably the easiest and most powerful blogging and website content management system (or CMS) in existence today.

HTML5 is a markup language used for structuring and presenting content on the World Wide Web. It is the fifth and current version of the HTML standard.

WordPress is clearly the most efficient, cost-effective website you could have.  Out of the box WordPress has more bells and whistles already built-in, that you don’t even have to think about.  The best part is you DO NOT need to even know any web language to use WordPress, unlike HTML5 where you are always stuck with either coding yourself or hiring someone who does.

This world is much like home building.  If you were to have a house built, it’s typically less expensive to use plans that have already been created by an architect; they have taken time to put thought into every aspect of the house so you don’t have to.  WordPress hires the best developers, so you can expect that it will continue to update with how the world wide web changes and to accommodate what Google is looking for.

Building a custom home not only takes more time but more money.  HTML5 operates much in the same way and isn’t easily updated with what Google is looking for.  Not to mention, it’s challenging to add content unless you rehire your web designer.

Here at Gravity Junction Web Design, we know that your time is money.  Working with our web design team, after launching your websites, we do include monthly content updates and blog posting on your behalf in our monthly maintenance plans.  However, we also take time to train, if you or someone on your team, would like to learn how to update your site.

How easy can WordPress be updated???

If you can send an email, you will easily learn how to change or post content to your website.

There is no real advantage for most website needs to use HTML5, it’s clunky, cumbersome and costly compared to WordPress.
